Role Purpose

The Regional Project Manager - SSA is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering all Facilities Management capital and operational projects across multiple countries within Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes project planning, execution, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring all projects meet CBRE Excellerate and client standards.

The role supports a diverse range of FM projects such as refurbishments, asset replacements, workplace upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and compliance-driven works across the client’s regional portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end FM project delivery across multiple countries in SSA
- Lead project scoping, feasibility assessments, cost estimation, procurement, implementation, and close-out
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, HSE standards, and compliance requirements

Financial & Commercial Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
- Ensure cost control, value engineering, and alignment with client financial expectations
- Oversee procurement of contractors, consultants, and suppliers in line with CBRE and client policies
- Review bids, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor performance.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives on all FM project matters across SSA
- Coordinate with internal teams, country FM teams, landlords, regulatory bodies, and external partners
- Provide regular updates, dashboards, and reporting to the client and CBRE leadership

Governance, Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards
- Maintain risk registers, quality assurance processes, and project documentation
- Conduct site inspections and audits across the region as required

Regional Coordination:
- Support alignment of project delivery standards across all SSA markets
- Drive consistency, efficiency, and process improvement in project management practices
- Monitor and track regional project performance using tools such as project trackers, dashboards, and PMO systems

 
Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field
Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)

Experience:
5–10+ years’ experience managing capital, MEP, FM and D&C projects, ideally across multiple African markets
Strong background in client-facing project management within a corporate real estate or FM environment
Experience working with multinational companies and cross-cultural teams
Proven track record in managing budgets, contractors, and complex stakeholder environments

Skills & Competencies

Strong project leadership and coordination skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills
Solid understanding of FM operations, building services, and regulatory requirements
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under diverse country conditions
Strong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skills
Willingness to travel across SSA as required
Ability to work independently, remotely, and within a matrix structure

 Additional Information

The role may require frequent travel across Sub‑Saharan Africa depending on project requirements.
